Here’s the way to move the Metadata Navigation higher in the left-hand navigation bar.<\/p>\n

You have to edit the master page if you want to move the location of the metadata navigation. Here are the steps:
\n1. Open the site using SharePoint Designer 2010;
\n2. Open the master page of the page which you want to change. Be default, the page is location in \u201c\/_catalogs\/masterpage\/default.master\u201d.
\n3. Edit the master page. Find the \u201cSPNavigationManager\u201d, whose id is \u201cTreeViewNavigationManagerV4\u201d. This is the metadata navigation. Here is the source code:<\/p>\n
